Ok so i was going to make a huge post about common but for some circumstances i didn't have time to upload everything so here is something i uploaded for a friend, so why not share it with you?
Yann Tiersen - Rue Des Cascades (1996)
So about this album. It has nothing to do with hip-hop or anything related, Yann Tiersen is music genius who plays mainly the accordion, piano and violin. He is a 37 years old man from France and I can personally say that he is a genius. His music is fantastic and i know how to play like 15 of his songs in piano (I'm a piano addict yes). If your curious about what I'm talking about, check it out, maybe you'll start playing the accordion cause of him. Really a special artist that is very particular and he is the only artist in my library of music that does this kind of music (because i just love him!). And he is only 37 years old! im expecting so much more music from him. Oh and by the way if you saw the movie Amelie so all the music there is from Yann (unbelievable movie with unbelievable music!)
Here it is! The long awaited album from MC Solaar who kind of disappeared latley, just came out 4 days ago and i have it here for you guys. This album is purely another way of MC Solaar to get into the mainstream and already has a new single Da Vinci Claude which is a huge success in France. Well i can't say its a bad album but some songs in it really SUCKS as others are really GREAT so its one of those albums that will be disputed for a long time but this is why internet was invented for. So all is left to say is that this album is very different from his early ones but its still good in some ways, well better than his last one which was a lame way to get into the mainstream. Its for you to decide if its good or not. But in my opinion its one of the best this year and full filed my anticipations so I'm happy.
Ok so here we go, summer is here and only one test left till i go out on vacation! To celebrate this occasion I decided to make a totally different post, yep, an Electronic post. Well it will only have Moby in it and the Ocean's 12 soundtrack, so don't anticipate to much.
First i'll talk about Moby. Yes i know you've all heard him singing some shitty songs on MTV or VH1 (don't know what you have) but i guaranty you that his 2 first albums are totally different than his last one. I was so dissapointed from his last album Hotel that i just deleted it from my library as fast as i could, its just not him! I first discovered Moby when my parents divorced so i was going on my dad's computer alot when i was with him. He taught me about the new MP3 generation (I had one of the first MP3 players ever created) and then i just saw Moby in his library and played the song Porcelain. At the same moment i just got in love with him. I was the only one listening to Moby as other kids were listening to Britney Spears and shit. Yeah back then i was 10 years old....so believe me its easy to belive that people heard that shit. I'm still listening to those 2 first albums of his (out of 3) and never getting tired of it. His first album is "Play" surely was his best album....and after that came "18" that was disappointing to some people but really not to me...it's still hot! Get involved and experience some amazing music....and just get those 2 albums! even if you don't like electronic music!
Ok Second of all, you can't say the Ocean's movies don't have great music and after seeing a short film made by a buddy of mine for his school project (I think) I just had to go and download it and of course share it with you. So here you have the short film:
And now the amazing album from the motion film Ocean's 12 (I think the music there was the best):
Guess who's back! Bambu the bracing, emotional, and oftentimes, lighthearted account of his experiences as an organizer, a nationalist, and a representative of collective struggle, from Native Guns has dropped his new album this year and to tell the truth, its not disappointing at all. This album got out on the 15th anniversary of the Los Angeles Riots at 19th April this year (along with tons of new hot albums). Criticizing never left Bambu's style and its all over the album and is nice to hear that some people care (well not about my country). An album that's worth the check, maybe you'll fall in love with it.
Here are two albums that got released this year. Those two are up there in the top albums of the year and worth checking out by every one.
Us3 have just released their final album and gets from me a 5/5 AGAIN! since their 1992 "Hands On The Torch" till now they haven't disappointed me. Very jazzy like usual, pleasent to hear and will make you joy for a long time. Do not miss this one if you are a fan of jazzy hip-hop
Last year the Australian group Hilltop Hoods have released their "The Hard Road" album, which was one of the very best albums of last year, and now they have released a whole new mixed way to hear the album, and who can say no to this! Get this one fast! US3-Say What?! (2007)
Ok so i heard the compilation that i was supposed to be posting and it isn't that great except from the good stuff like The Brand New Heavies, Incognito, St. Germain etc'. So I think ill take the huge compilation and make it a small compilation so that only good stuff will get threw your hears! or ill post everything and you'll make the choice. Well that depends on your comments (if there are gonna be any) or on my mood :).
This is something that i got from Rapdungeon (the site which changed my life, I'm serious)that caught my eyes as i realized that Pete Philly is featuring in it and also that it came from the same label company as Pete Philly and Perquisite. As the title said, its a mixture of DJ shadow's Entroducing... and some pretty good jazz plus some hip-hop in the side in some songs. And as you know I'm a big fun of good Jazz/Hip-Hop, and this is surely one of the best i heard so far. So give it a look if your a jazz/hip-hop fan and even if your not your obligated to check it out, you wont be disappointed!
